Are they going to stop making psp 3000 games?

i want a psp 3000 for christmas, but my parents told me that i shouldnt expect it under the tree this year because theyve already gone to kmart, toysrus etc. and the one lady at kmart said that she hastn seen the system or the game sthere for awhile. she thinks that there going to making a new system of psp and that there phasing out the old? is that true whats going on?
