Paying tax for the 1st time going from JSA to self employed?

please can you help me ive tryed looking everywhere and ive tryed phoning HM revenue and customs but they just put me on hold for up to 20mins , i just hang up, anyway my question is i was on jsa for 1 year and built up 4327.36 taxable benefit iam now self employed so does this mean i can earn 4327.36 before i start paying tax
