Consequences of violating European Human Rights Tribunal ruling?

This week, the European Tribunal of Human Rights in Strasbourg is scheduled to rule on a case involving Ireland's strict abortion laws. There is no guarantee that the law will be struck down; it may be ordered to be referred to a lower court, or may be upheld on the basis of infringement on Ireland's sovereignty. But let us suppose that the law is indeed struck down, but Ireland refuses to alter its law to comply with the conditions of the ruling. What consequences could Ireland possibly face, and is there anything it could still do to avert implementing the court's decision?
