How do you get your zippo to last more than a couple days after refueling?

When I bought my zippo in europe and the store clerk fueled it, it lasted for two weeks. When I came back, I didnt use it for a long period of time. I also changed the wick since then but now, it just doesnt seem to last more than a couple days after refueling. What is wrong?
